Q1. When can we Hunt for RoeBucks with you in England? A1. We start on April the first to end of May (first half season), We then Hunt from mid July to Mid August (the Rut) Q2. How many Bucks are we expected to take in one week? A2. The Average is 3 Bucks per Hunter. Q3. Can we get a Gold Medal Buck? A3. All Hunters have the same chance of a Gold Medal Buck, we give no one special treatment. Everyone has a chance and we do take several every year over 600grams. Q4. What are the hidden costs? A4. There are NONE. Our Price List (available on request) includes all the cost for your Hunting there are no hidden cost. The only cost that is not on the List is Airport pick-up. This we can arrange and we let you know in advance. Q5. Is there any thing for the Non-Hunter to do in your area? A5. Yes - We have now include a special page for the attractions and useful information in our area you can find this at the following link: Q6. What are the close seasons in England? A6. You can find these at the following link Q7. Can I get a lunch between the Breakfast and Dinner you provide? A7. Yes - You can easily get a snack or a meal locally, but we assure you after you have had our cooks Full english breakfast and the evening dinner, you will not need to eat any more during the day. Q8. How long have you been taking Guests for RoeBuck Hunting? A8. It is now over 30 years. Q9. Do I get my own Hunting Guide? A9. Yes - Every Hunters has his own personal very experienced guide for each hunt. Q10. Is the stalking very physical as I cannot walk far A10. No - The ground in Somerset is mostly flat and therefore easy stalking is possible. Q11. What time of Day do we Hunt? A11. We start in the morning at first light for about 3 hours and then in the evening 3 hours before last light Q12. Where do we stay? A12. Most Hunters stay in our house with the family, sometime due to availability Hunters stay in the local Pub. All hunters eat together in the evening prior to the evening Hunt. Q13. Can I bring my own Rifle? A13. YES, If you are live in Europe we need your original valid European Firearms Permit and we process this for you British Firearms Permit and send them both back to you in tome for your hunt. If you live outside Europe, we only need a copy of you Firearms Permit Faxed to us and we do the rest and return your British Permit to you. Q14. Can I hire a Rifle and if so what calibres are available? A14. Yes we have a Rifle hire facility available and have a large selection of Rifle Calibres to choose from. Q15. What do I need to do to Book and what do I pay prior to my hunt. A15. You can book on line. We ask you only to send your stalking fee as your non refunable deposit to secure your booking. Q16. When can we Hunt for RoeBucks with you in England? A16. We start on April the first to end of May (first half season), We then Hunt from mid July to Mid August (the Rut) Q17. When is the best time to come? A17. When it is not very windy and raining is the only truthful answer Q18. Is there a charge for trophy preparation? A18. No we prepare the Skull mounts free of charge. There is a Taxidermist locally if you wish anything ealse who we can put you in touch with this is at additional cost. Q19. Can I hunt Deer with my Bow in England? A19. No this is prohibited by Law in the UK Q20. What is the minimum calibre of rifle I can use for Deer in England.? A20. The minimum calibre is .240 for most Deer in England, however .222 and 22/250 are now being introduced as legal for CWD and Muntjac. Q21. Is there any essential clothing for Hunting in England? A21. Yes Wellington Boots (Rubber Boots) as the grass is very wet from the morning dew most days. Q22. Why are your Bucks always of such a good quality every year? A22. We follow a very strict Deer Management programme, this coupled with the vey mild winters and abundance of food availalbe always produce good Trophies. Q23. If I unfortunately wound a Deer what happens? A23. We have a Specially trained Deer Dogs for finding wounded Deer. This always becomes the highest priority and one or more of the guides will be dedicated with their Dogs to finding the wounded Deer.
