This course is a must for people who have never handled a shotgun before and are thinking of taking up the sport or would like to have their good practice reinforced. As with driving, we all get bad habits from time to time and need to brush up on our good practice and skills.

You do not have to have a shotgun or a licence to take part in this course but if you have you may bring it along in a gun case a (not forgetting your shotgun certificate.)

It is our intention that we adjust the course to meet all levels of experience.

We also want the participants to fully interact ask questions and understand why we do it that way.

The course will start with the law and shotguns basic safety. We will look at guns and cartridges from 8 bore to .410 and the secure storage of guns and cartridges. From the removing the gun and cartridges from the cabinet in your home, transportation, use in the field, clay or game, to cleaning it and securely locking it away after your shooting session.

The course is intended to be both theoretical and practical and participants of a wide age range may attend. We think that the lower end of the age range 9-10 is about right but this depends on the ability of the youngster.
